We will pick you up from your hotel or the Casablanca airport and drive you to Fes via Rabat and Meknes. If time allows, we can make brief stops in those cities to visit the main attractions, as well as Roman ruins, before continuing on to Fes, where you will spend the night in a traditional Moroccan home (riad).
For the majority of the morning, the medina (old city) and its alleys will be visited. The Mellah (Jewish Quarter) and the Royal Palace (yard), which is the country's largest, are the first sites on your trip. You'll see the world's earliest university, the Quaraouine mosque, as well as the famous tanneries. After lunch, dine in a traditional Moroccan restaurant in the Medina for a beautiful panoramic view of the city. We'll spend the night in the same riad.
DAY 3: FES -
We'll depart Fes after breakfast and head to Ifrane, sometimes known as "Morocco's Switzerland." The Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains will be visible during this excursion. Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the heart of Morocco's famous cedar forest, the country's largest, where you may encounter Barbarian apes. Lunch will be in Midelt in a traditional Moroccan restaurant , then afterwards we’ll travel through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock and along the spectacular Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way. We’ll drive through welcoming Berber villages to Erfoud and then Rissani, before arriving to Merzouga. Here you’ll be welcomed by a glass of mint tea before you check in to our guest house beside the sand dunes . dinner and breakfast.
DAY 4: MERZOUGA AREA -
After a luxurious breakfast you’ll start exploring the area. You’ll be visiting the Gnawa people in their village Khamlia, where you will learn about the Gnawa music and their lifestyle. . After that, we'll drive into the Sahara desert, where we'll see nomad families still living in Berber tents made from their animals' wool. Our lunch today will be a traditional Berber cuisine (Berber pizza) with a Berber family. You can also go to the old city of Rissani, which is the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, Morocco's current governing royal family. Rissani is surrounded by about 360 ksar (a fortified village with many towers) and has a big souk (an open market), held three times a week. Once called Sijilmassa, this was the meeting place for the salt caravans, coming from Timbuctou in Mali. Here you’ll walk through the souk, packed with spices, vegetables and cloths. Later, we'll return to Merzouga, where your camel will be waiting for you, accompanied by an expert camel guide. The camel ride takes about an hour to reach the camp, which is located in the heart of the highest sand dunes, where you will spend the night and watch the sunset and stars. At the camp, dinner will be served.
DAY 5: MERZOUGA -
Your camel guide will wake you up early in the morning to witness what could be the most beautiful sunrise of your life, after which you will calmly return to the hamlet by camel. The stunning Erg Chebbi dunes, which change with the light as the day advances, will not fail to wow you along the way. After breakfast and a shower at the Riad, depart for the Rissani, Tinghir, and Todgha Gorges, Morocco's tallest and narrowest gorges. We'll drive to the Dades Valley after lunch in the valley, where you'll view spectacular sand castles and fascinating rock formations known as "monkey toes." Dinner and breakfast are included in our traditional guest house stay.
DAY 6 : DADES VALLEY -
We'll drive through the Dades Valley to Kalaat M'Gouna and Ouarzazate after breakfast. The path through Dades Valley is known as the "Kasbah Road," and it offers multiple opportunity to capture some of your best photographic moments of the trip. We'll make a pit stop in Kalaat M'Gouna, also known as "the Rose City." Your drive to Marrakech will continue through Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, Morocco's largest Kasbah. Your journey will continue to Marrakech passing by Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. Et Hami El Glaoui erected the Kasbah, which is today home to numerous Glaoui people. Your journey will continue across the High Atlas Mountains' spectacular Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2260m), where we can stop to learn about the methods and method of making argan oil by Berber women's cooperatives before arriving at your hotel in Marrakech.
